Ancient greek pottery illustrates in colour a selection of vessels from the Ashmolean s remarkable collection. Most of the pots were made in Corinth or Athens and exported in antiquity to Italy and Sicily, where they served as graveofferings. Many are decorated with figured scenes - ceramic analogues of designs for textiles or silverware - which give an insight into Greek religion, warfare, sport, party-going and craftmanship.
